The Ultimate Fighter Redemption Finale – Daily Fantasy Picks

We have back-to-back nights of fights this weekend, so get ready to win double the beer money!

First up is The Ultimate Fighter Redemption Finale on Friday night.  Main card starts at 9pm on Fox Sports 1, while the under card starts at 7pm on the same channel.  Fight Pass early pre-lims start at 6pm on, wait for it… Fight Pass.

I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit).  Also, if this is your first rodeo you can check out the scoring criteria here.

Alright, enough with the formalities and on to the picks.

Gray Maynard is fighting on Friday, which is synonymous with with Gray Maynard is getting KO’d on Friday.  Teruto Ishihara ($9,200) gets the pleasure of fighting the veteran, and has a tendency of brutally knocking out his opponents (along with his love of bitches).  Expecting a round 1 finish in this Fight Pass fight.

Another veteran on Friday’s card that has had a rough go of late is Jessica Eye, who’s inactivity in fights seems to always bite her on the scorecards.  Her opponent, Aspen Ladd ($8,200), would never be described as inactive, as she continuously throws and throws.  She probably won’t get a finish, but she’ll rack up the points with significant strikes.

Angela Hill ($8,800) showed great improvement during her Invicta run, and then gave Jessica Andrade all she could handle despite leaving the cage on the wrong side of the decision.  Despite being a decent grappler, Ashley Yoder is a step-down in competition from Andrade, and I expect Hill to own her on the feet before getting the stoppage.

Marcel Fortuna had quite the grand entrance into the UFC, knocking out Anthony Hamilton in 30 seconds.  However, he has struggled against decent wrestlers in the past, as he looks too comfortable spending long amounts of time on his back.  Jordan Johnson ($8,700) is definitely a strong wrestler, and carries some pop in his fists to boot.  Assuming he avoids the kill shot early, Johnson will ride his wrestling to a dominant victory.

Speaking of awesome knockouts, Marc Diakiese produced quite the highlight real in his last outing.  This time, however, his opponent will get the best of him.  Drakkar Klose ($7,200), on top of being dirt cheap, has a style matchup that favors his brand of pressure fighting and wrestling.  Diakiese sparkles in open space, but Klose just doesn’t allow open space.  Pressure pays off in this one.

Justin Gaethje ($7,800).  Just look at that price tag for a second… I’ll wait.  I understand that this is Gaethje’s UFC debut and that he is fighting a legitimate top-5 lightweight in Michael Johnson, but you would think that someone with his hype would have a higher price point.  Johnson is a tough out for anyone, and has even shown the ability to finish fights with his fists, but Gaethje is a different animal who is more than happy to eat a shot to deliver one. The newcomer makes a bloody statement in his debut.

Alright – these are my daily fantasy picks for Friday night’s card.  Having beer money on the line always makes the evenings more enjoyable, so let’s go do this!
