UFC 217 – Daily Fantasy Picks

We have arguably the biggest fight card of the year tonight in with THREE title fights and the return of GOAT GSP! Madison Square Garden just gets all the big stuff.

The main card starts at 10pm eastern on pay-per-view, while the prelims are at 8pm over on Fox Sports 1.  The early prelims are at 7pm on Fight Pass.

I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here.

Now let’s get down to business.

Joanna Jedrzejcyk ($9,200) isn’t called Joanna Champion for nothing. Although she hasn’t finished a fighter in over two years, she simply racks up the significant strike points. And there’s something about her trash talking this time that makes me smell a finish anyway…

The bitter rivalry between Cody Garbrandt and TJ Dillashaw ($7,900) is going to make for awesome TV. Both fighters will probably put up points, and I go back and forth on who I think will win, but at that price, you simply cannot pass on the former champion.

A lot of people seem to think that “Irish” Joe Duffy will finish James “The Texecutioner” Vick ($7,700), but I don’t think they’ve seen the tall Texan fight. While Duffy has legitimate boxing, Vick’s use of range and his ability to capitalize on scrambles with timely submissions will be the difference. And he is one tough son of a bitch with a low price tag.

Walt Harris ($8,800) is an incredibly athletic and strong heavyweight fighting a journeyman who possesses nowhere near the same level of athletic talent. Enjoy the show.

Has Mickey Gall ($8,400) fought anyone who can withstand his wrestling and submission skills? Not even close. Is Randy Brown the guy that can? I don’t think so.

Curtis Blaydes ($8,000). I could just cut and past my paragraph on Walt Harris from above. And his price tag is so low…
