UFC Fight Night Orlando Daily Fantasy Picks

The UFC stays in southern USA this weekend with a show next door to Disney World in Orlando, Florida. What the card lacks in big name (or contender) fights, it more than makes up for in action fights.

The main event starts at t8pm eastern on big FOX, while the prelim fights start on 6pm, also on FOX. The Fight Pass early prelims start at 4:15pm (and there are a lot of them).

I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here.

Now let’s get down to business.

Value Picks

  • Brian Kelleher ($7,700) is fighting a former champ, and according to DraftKings pricing is the underdog. Well, one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. Renan Barao is not the same fighter who once ruled the bantemweight division for years, and Kelleher has the well-rounded style to make the evening rough (and possibly short) for the former champ. Enjoy.
  • I keep telling myself to not bet on Ovince St. Preux ($8,300), yet here I am. While he can be maddeningly frustrating at times, this weekend’s matchup against Ilir Latifi has OSP primed for another victory. Latifi struggles with the length possessed by OSP, and that’s what I’m banking on.

Avoid

  • Sara McMann ($8,900) will win her fight, and most likely win it convincingly. However, her style, while effective, does not lend itself to DFS points. Take her in a pick’em, but avoid her in any daily fantasy lineup.
  • Renan Barao ($8,500) just hasn’t been the same since the TJ Dillashaw loss (and USADA and no more IV rehydration). As mentioned above, his opponent, Brian Kelleher, is tough, well rounded, and can finish fights. At this point, I think Barao is broken, and there is no way that I’m dropping that much cash on him.
