We’ve got double barreled UFC action this weekend starting with the TUF 27 Finale this Friday night, headlined by “The Last Stylebender” Israel Adesayna and Brad Tavares.
The main card kicks off at 10pm eastern on Fox Sports 1, while the prelims start at 8pm, also on FS1. The early pre-lims start at 7pm on Fight Pass.
Now let’s get down to business.
- Steven Peterson ($7,300) and Matt Bessette should get the night started off right on the Fight Pass pre-lims as the two all-offense fighters try to knock each others’ heads clean off. Both fighters have serious defensive holes while very much enjoying the trading of fisticuffs, meaning that DFS points will be scored in bunches during this one.
- Tyler Diamond ($8,400) was one of the favorites entering this season of TUF, but unfortunately was not able to live up to the hype. The tools are there, as is the aggression, and the fact that he trains at Team Alpha Male should definitely help. His opponent, Bryce Mitchell, was also highly touted entering this season the reality show, but Diamond is basically better everywhere, and should be able to dictate the fight.
- Barb Honchak ($8,600) takes on fan favorite Roxy Modafferi on the main card. Honchak is the favorite for good reason, but this fight promises to be slow paced and shouldn’t lend itself to high DFS scores on either side. Low ceiling fight = avoid.
- Alex Caceres ($8,300) is basically impossible to trust. He can make mind-numbing decisions during fights and has an innate ability to snatch defeat from the jaws fo victory.
