The UFC is live in China this Thanksgiving weekend, with an early Saturday morning show. It’s basically the grown-up version of Saturday morning cartoons.
The main card kicks off at 16:30am eastern on Fight Pass, while the prelims start at 3:15am, also on Fight Pass.
I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here.
Now let’s get down to business.
Value Picks
- Vince Morales ($7,100) lost his DWTNCS audition, but not after putting such a beating on his opponent that the winner of the fight received the medical suspension. He drew a tough card for his is official UFC debut in Song Yadong, but the value it too much to pass up. Song is willing to engage in a firefight, and Morales showed his ability to more than hold his own in one. He’s not the favorite here, but has more than a punchers chance at coming out on top.
- Alex Morono ($7,900) has been primarily an aggressive striker throughout his UFC tenure, despite his BJJ bonafides. He will also be the more athletic and quicker of the two fighters, which should allow him to ply that aggressive game for as long as needed.
Avoid
- Rashad Coulter ($8,400) has looked overwhelmed during his UFC run so far. He is willing to trade with his opponents, but gasses out far too quickly for it to be successful. This fight has the look of an ugly heavyweight bout that drags on.
- Sergei Pavlovich ($8,200) certainly has the power to KO Allistair Overeem, but I don’t think that he has the style to do so. He patience should allow the longer Overeem to spend his time on the outside dictating the pace of the fight. There’s danger there, I just don’t see it materializing.
