Wow. UFC 232 has already been a wild ride and the pre-lims haven’t even started. Of course a card headlined by Jon Jones had to have some crazy last-minute shenanigans…
I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here. Now let’s get down to business.
Value Picks
- Brian Kelleher ($7,800) is an insanely aggressive fighter, which can be both good and bad. However, his opponent this weekend is extremely raw and will most likely be unable to find the openings that Kelleher tends to provide. Aggressiveness wins the day here, and is usually a good a thing for DFS points.
- Another aggressive fighter on the pre-lims, Nathaniel Woods ($8,200), should also find his way into your lineup. Woods is young, athletic, and aggressive, and he’s taking on another young prospect in Andre Ewell. This one should be fun either way, but Woods should have the edge.
Avoid
- Let’s face it, BJ Penn is done, and has been since before DraftKings was even a thing. However, that doesn’t mean that Ryan Hall ($9,400) is worthy of being the most expensive fighter on the card. Will Hall win? Yeah, it’s almost a sure thing. Will he win while scoring more than 60 DFS points? Not likely.
- Curtis Millender ($8,800) has had a surprisingly successful UFC run, but faces a difficult style matchup here. Siyar Bahadurzada is quicker, hits harder, and has the wrestling edge. Millender has a nice reach advantage, but that’s about it.
