Need something to fill your time the day before the Big Game (copyright pending)? Well the UFC is here to help, my friend, with yet another solid ESPN+ offering. Good stuff from top to bottom here, with a potential title challenger eliminator at the top of the card in Raphael Assuncao and Marlon Moraes facing off for the second time.
I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here. Now let’s get down to business.
Value Picks
- Sarah Frota ($7,100) is an absolute tank for her division, and a wild one at that. She is definitely the under-dog in her fight against Livinha Souza, but her combination of power and aggressiveness make her a very interesting flier.
- Ricardo Ramos ($8,000) has shown himself to be a well-rounded action fighter in his young UFC career. Thankfully for us, he takes on another well-rounded action fighter in Said Nurmagomedov. This fight should be non-stop and back-and-forth, with plenty of DFS points to go around. Add that victory bonus to Ramos and you have yourself a steal.
Avoid
- Johnny Walker ($9,200) is the current hot thing in the LHW division, and it’s not hard to see why with his fighting style and wacky personality. However, Justin Ledet is a hot prospect in his own right (despite the recent rough patch), and has the style to turn this fight into a slow, range striking game. I’m not chasing the star power with that kind of cash.
- Livinha Souza ($9,100). As mentioned above, Souza is the favorite in her fight this weekend. However, that fact that she is undersized, along with the power and aggressiveness of her opponent, makes me shy away from her. Especially with that price tag.
