The UFC travels to the cosmopolitan Newark, NJ this Saturday to entertain us live and free on ESPN. The main event will feature Ruthless Robbie Lawler trying to take the head off of the quiet and understated Colby Covington, so I sure hope that you’re ready for some day drinking.
I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here. Now let’s get down to business.
- Joaquim Silva ($7,100) attempts to solve every problem by punching it really hard in the face, and it has tended to work for him so far. Nasrat Haqparast is definitely the better fighter, and the rightful favorite, but his aggression should give Silva plenty of openings. At that price, I’ll take the risk.
- Kennedy Nzechukwu ($7,800) is raw, but one hell of an athlete. His opponent is of the plodding should be a heavyweight variety, so I will bank on the Texan stealing the show here.
- Scott Holtzman ($9,300) should win his fight against the far-too-patient Dong Hyun Ma, but he is difficult to trust at times. Over $9K is a lot to roster an inconsistent fighter…
- Jim Miller ($8,900) has been hit or miss of late. He is undeniably talented, but as he ages, his already limited physical gifts have definitely deteriorated. His opponent, Clay Guida, is also an old war horse, but seems to be the less physically shot of the two. I’m not dropping that kind of price to roster Miller.
