UFC Fight Night 158 Daily Fantasy Picks

Donald Cerrone.

Justin Gaethje.

These are two of MMA fans’ favorite fighters, as they both can always be counted on to bring the action wherever, whenever, and against whomever. And you know what? THEY ARE FIGHTING EACH OTHER THIS WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is just one of those dream matchups that you do not want to miss, even if it does only last a round. The rest of the card? Who cares (but there actually are some other nice matchups *cough* return of Todd Duffee *cough*).

I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here. Now let’s get down to business.

Value Picks

  • As Glover Teixeira ($7,700) gets older, we face the risk of him dramatically falling off the rails. However, that hasn’t happened yet, and Nikita Krylov’s numerous brain farts should play right into the hands of the experienced vet. Sure, Krylov could get a “lucky” KO, but only Rumble and Gustaffson have been able to finish Glover with strikes so far.
  • Todd Duffee ($7,900), because this. I know, Duffee hasn’t fought since 2015, when he was starched by Frank Mir, but Jeff Hughes doesn’t look to be anything special, and this feels like a “bring Duffee back easy” kind of matchup.

Avoid

  • Brad Katona ($8,900) isn’t a finisher, and therefore just isn’t the kind of fighter worth that price tag.
  • The aforementioned Nikita Krylov (8,500) can usually be counted on for hilariousness in the cage, but that doesn’t necessarily translate to DFS points.
