UFC Fight Night 159 Daily Fantasy Picks

After last week’s headliner, this Mexico City card seems like a little bit of a let-down. However, while the card overall is not anything to write home about, Yair Rodriguez should be appointment viewing for any MMA fan, as he can certainly be counted on to do something crazy in the cage. Jeremy Stephens should also serve as a willing dance partner, so this should be fun.

I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here. Now let’s get down to business.

Value Picks

  • Marco Polo Reyes ($7,600) has had a tough go of late, but his first fight at 145 is a nice matchup for him. Kyle Nelson is aggressive, but slow, and that combination is just want Reyes needs to land the kill shot.
  • Martin Bravo ($8,100) or Steven Peterson ($8,100) should be rostered. This fight looks like a toss-up, but will definitely deliver the fireworks, and you will not want to miss out on some of that action.

Avoid

  • Sergio Pettis ($9,300) does not have the dynamism of his brother, and also lacks the ability to deliver high DFS point totals, even in his wins. Low ceiling means no go, especially at that price.
  • The aforementioned Kyle Nelson ($8,600) should probably not be on your roster as well, as he is too slow to effectively compete with Reyes.
