So… lots of UFC events this month. The UFC is live in the land down under this Saturday with a free card full of heavyweights. I think that it’s fair to assume a few finishes on this one.
I use DraftKings for my UFC daily fantasy fix, so if you don’t have an account you can sign up here (and get a 50% bonus on your initial deposit). Also, you can check out the scoring criteria here.
Now let’s get down to business.
Value Picks
- Paul Craig ($7,500) is taking on a DWTNCS alum, which means his opponent is athletic and offensively minded. However, Craig is crafty, and should definitely have the advantage in most areas of the fight. His submission skills should win him the day here and he is a steal at that price.
- Tony Martin ($7,800) versus Jake Mathews is a fun matchup with real implications for the welterweight division. Both fighters are strong grapplers, but Martin has shown himself to probably have the edge on the feet. Either way, this one should be fun, and there will be plenty of DFS points to be had.
Avoid
- Jim Crute ($8,700) is the above mentioned DWTNCS alum fighting Paul Craig, and as mentioned, Craig should prove to be too tough of a test for him. I’ll be honest, this price tag shocked me.
- Christos Giagos ($9,000) is perfectly fine. But perfectly fine does not merit a $9K price tag, especially when his opponent is also perfectly fine. This fight doesn’t promise much in the way of fireworks anyway.
